A feast is being held for the God of rice, Inari, and all the offerings from the mortal realm are being brought in. One of the offerings is a human who was born with great spiritual powers. They're being offered to Inari in exchange for a good harvest after a terrible famine. Inari accepts the offering, saying that he will eat the human come the next spring equinox and thus ensuring a good harvest for their village. The human lives in Inari's castle for a year and goes on adventures with Yokai and Gods, but always with the knowledge they're going to be eaten in the spring.

Spring arrives and the human has come to terms with their fate, secure in the knowledge that their sacrifice will mean many more will live. But they are sad that they will not be able to see all the friends they have made in the God's realm ever again.

The time comes and Inari keeps his word and with great ceremony, devours the human offering.

But...

The human wakes up later. Intact. Alive. They see Inari casually smoking on the terrace and ask the God if they had done something wrong, fearing the God had refused their sacrifice in the end and the famine would sweep their village once more. But Inari just laughs and assures the human that their sacrifice was accepted and their people would see a bountiful harvest. The human doesn't understand.

"I said I would eat you come spring equinox and I have done that. Never did I say that I would kill you."

The human calls the God of rice a jerk and Inari laughs and continues, "If you had known you would not die, then your sacrifice would hold no power and the famine would return. You had to be willing to give yourself wholly to me for it to have worked."

The human calls Inari a jerk again and pouts.

You and Sam Corlett are the gods of lust and fertility. You had a great marriage and sex life. The earth itself was created by one of your divine orgasms. However, you were now in the middle of the 7 billion year itch. You decided it was time to spice things up by adding some mortals to the mix and Sam agreed. One mortal that Sam had his eyes on was Oliver Stark. He was strikingly beautiful and you both wanted to let him get involved in your sex life. Oliver was in an empty park when he spots you two fucking. Sam beckoned the stud toward you with his finger. Oliver couldn’t resist joining in on the fun. It’s fun for all of you at first, but things got weird when you slipped into your divine forms. You and Sam merged together into a fiery pink radiance that consumed Oliver. You return to your humanoid forms and Oliver is gone. “Hello? where am I” You hear in a british accent. “oops! I think I might have absorbed Oliver!” You panic. “Don’t worry about it. We can just switch back into our divine forms and let him out.” Sam reassures you. You join together into the pink light again, but Oliver i part of that light now. You switch back and discover that there is no way to reverse this. “”Sorry Olly looks like you’re stuck in there forever” You tell him. but Sam doesn’t seem to mind. He tells you that consuming that mortal was sexy and much to Olly’s chagrin you agree. You two are already considering who to absorb next.

So I did a bit of art for this story idea. 

In my original story I did not say if the human offering was a girl or boy, but here I drew her as a girl just because that’s what I had in my head. I’m honestly really happy how Inari looks here because I have ZERO experience drawing anthro characters and they few I have attempted don’t look great.
