god and, also for the character, quote thing It should be enough. To make something beautiful should be enough. It isn't. It should be. and charlotte :,
headcanons for charlotte based off of this one (but also expect either a pauly or a tedlotte drabble later):
Charlotte absolutely has a gifted child mentality where if she doesn’t do something perfectly the first time, she doesn’t want to try again
she’ll get frustrated and upset if something she worked on ends up different from how she imagined it
it could be the most beautiful painting, knitting project, or hand sewn dress anyone else had ever seen but if charlotte had something slightly different in mind, she becomes ashamed of her creation
this started when she was a kid and didn’t have to try hard in order to make beautiful things, she just accepted what she created as beautiful and that was it
as she got older, more stern views of beauty were set in place by the world and shifted her thinking
yes, she still found beauty in small things and lovely little things her friends did, but she struggled to see the same in herself and her projects
it only got worse as she grew older
she still struggles with this issue well into her 30s
her main way of fighting this is by wearing what she sews and knits, trying to tell herself that “it might not look exactly like the design, but it looks nice on me”
so she has her own little way of coping with this problem of hers
her friends probably know about it too
