She knows that. It is something she didn't always know, but she does now. The Guardians have helped her realize that everything she was taught is wrong, that she doesn't have to be useful, or quiet, or self-erasing. She knows Ego never loved her — not the way he loved Peter, and definitely not the way he loved himself. Mantis desperately wants to think she is doing better. Still, old habits die hard, don't they?

"Thank you, Rocket," she says, all sincerity and gratitude, voice very nearly catching in her throat from sheer emotion. The furry Guardian isn't the sentimental type, so Mantis appreciates his attempts at comfort, she truly does. A hand moves to scratch Rocket's head softly. "You are very kind. Thank you for reminding me."

There's been a number of times that Chloe Decker has found Lucifer at his piano. His handsome voice always carried, even through the elevator doors. Settling down beside him, her gaze flickered from his fingers playing along ivory keys up to his face.

Dulcinea was about to walk away when she noticed something on Rocket's back. Despite being wrapped in a towel, whatever was on his back was visible. It looked like his cybernetic implants. Dulcinea has never seen them before.

"Oh my God." She held both of his shoulders so she could get a better look at his implants. Rocket couldn't see it, but her face was filled with horror.

“Well, I figured with that whole Spidey-sense thing you’ve got going on, you’d notice me coming,” Ellis said with a laugh.

She shut the door behind her, making sure no one else got a view of her boyfriend standing there in nothing but a towel.

“Not the first time I’ve seen you without a shirt, Peter… but definitely a first for the towel,” she added, a teasing smile tugging at her lips.

She crossed her arms, raising a brow slightly.

“I came to see what was taking you so long. How are you a superhero and still somehow terrible with timing?”

"What? You have never been in love with a piece of shit before?" Dinah tried to joke and smile through the heartache. Here she was back in Gotham having to start all over again. Fifteen years worth of marriage in the shiter since last November. "Well don't just stand there help me unpack" She called him distraught yesterday when she faced her new bungalow full of boxes. It's fine, it was going to be fine, Oliver cheated on her one too many times a year ago and the end had to come.

She had moved on from Oliver alright. But starting life again in Gotham....felt like square one. Where else would she go if not home. Star city was her new start, Gotham was were she belonged.

"Seen my Triumph? Nice right?" If they could just talk about stupid shit she would be alright, like the bike parked on her front lawn. "I'll give you a ride home if you're nice"

She gave him no choice but to hug her, practically pried his arms open to head butt his chest.

Leather boots tread across worn down floorboards, able to feel the rumble of the rock music pounding through the speakers as she approaches the bar. A cowboy costume the easiest thing she could throw together in time for the theme night. Hoisting herself up before catching the bartender's attention. "Just give me two of whatever, ya know I'm not picky." Johnnie smacks some bills on the counter, eyes scanning the crowd for someone specific. October was always a busy month for her, costume nights at bars and clubs were some of her best hunting grounds.
