The tanuki in Godless Land are a type of evolved beast, as opposed to beastmen who are closer related to humans than beasts.

In the world outside their hidden villages, Tanuki always go by aliases, and those accustomed with Taunki travellers are used to just calling them titles like "Fruit Seller" "Woodsman" and "Swamp Apothecary" They tend to collect numerous aliases and Nicknames because of this.

Ginkgo is a seller of magical fruits that are resourcefully aquired (stolen) and enchanted with various effects. They tend to have Monkey's paw like effects like An Apple that allows you to fly but actually turns you into a bat.
