Makeshift altar of Vesui (who’s still a little shit, even though one impossibly cute little shit).
Time to catch up with stuff I’m behind with .____. I should’ve drawn that ages ago, but, anyway.
Diva Duchess, Baby Witch and UnGodling from @strayalchemist‘s this year’s amazing NaNoWriMo novel <3
OCtober, kind of! @strayalchemist‘s Uvi, prospective godling creator.
Allright, that’s one of the weirdest things I’ve ever drawn and an example of how my (and not just mine! <3) mind processes work.
Have Nadir, who started out one and a half year ago as my Baldur’s Gate character, in three most extremely alternative universe versions. The default, in-game Nadir is a mongrel half-elf (Fighter)/Mage/Thief with one hell of an anger management problem, hyperactive brain and strong alienating tendencies. He survived the whole Bhaalspawn crisis, only to refuse ascending to godhood mostly out of cowardice (eh) and then screwed up big time anyway, but that’s another matter completely. Let’s just say that the ultimate consequence of him failing at life is either dying in a rather unheroic way after all the epic stuff he did, or:
Bottom right, ending up dragged to the City, also known as Counterbalance. It’s a mostly modern place located basically outside of all known space, both isolated and connected with everything that ever existed, the axis of the story I’ve been developing for a few years now, together with one amazing alchemist. About alchemists - modern place, but with, among other things, unscience, gargoyles and Renaissance fashion in the mix. The guys who live there wanted to summon a fae, for some reason. Ended up summoning a barely alive half-fae instead, and a surprisingly well-adjusted one. This version of Nadir surprises everyone by being unexpectedly normal, becomes accustomed with the place in no time at all, starts wearing obligatory eyeliner :D, makes friends with all the wrong people, gets a job at the local university and ends up being a revolutionary. No rest for the wicked.
Bottom left, ending up a (demi)god or exarch anyway. He's probably hours or days from becoming one in the situation depicted - ascending will also contain some kind of direct physical change I can't put my finger on still, but more or less this image. Long story short, unheroic death didn't happen for reasons irrelevant here. Nadir runs away and for a quarter of a century hides in some backwater village, raising a bunch of street urchins. Then the village becomes a scene of a military conflict, engaging also a group of mercenaries led by a oddly familiar roadkill drow who belongs to shaydh :]. Nadir tags along, the whole thing leading to another divine war, him becoming just another version of a (demi)god - not of death, but guidance, strategy and general battle management - as a result. Also a fashionista. :P
On the top, the newest addition to the bunch and the oddest one for now. Not the remote outcome of in-game events, but of the whole new story, rewritten by strayalchemist, to match a completely new setting, influenced by both Etruscan and Celtic culture (which is the reason for his image changing so much). Initially human with more or less the same features and personality, but still a cultural mongrel, becoming what's perceived as a god by uh, feeding on things he's not supposed to. Patron of passages, shadows, illusion and in-between places. Also basically a cat, to balance out how serious it all is. He only wants to nap and maybe dance on some roofs sometimes, but isn't allowed to, because of the whole godling conflict drama.
