Yoshi: She never seemed to care about the Knights under her command, often sending them into situations that would've gotten them hurt or worse, myself included sometimes. And when Victini started burning Unova.... she didn't seem to care... And don't get me started on her style of fighting-it's just.. fucked up, alright? Despite how mortified I was when I heard she died... somewhere deep down, I'm happy she’s dead...
Reid: Haarsh...
Cassidy: Considering I-I had to stop you... I don’t believe that-
Yoshi: Listen, at that point, just learning someone else died when I could’ve done something hurts...
Reid: Look at that... something we can agree on...
Yoshi: ... Let me finish... Like with Ilumia, Nelda would send squads out to dangerous places and often they either didn’t come back or came back in worse shape than when they left, which is part of the job of a Strident Knight obviously, but the thing is-especially if she went with them-she’d come back... different? I couldn’t ever grasp it at first, not until we fought with Team Machine during that year you and the other Trio members vanished, Reid...
Reid: Hmm...
Yoshi: During that battle, we suffered a lot of losses-especially Unova and Orre’s Knights-the Orre Knights lost their original leader-and the Unovan Knights, um... the only ones who came back were Nelda and myself...
Reid: What?
Lugia: Ooh, she’d work wonderfully with Giratina...
Cassidy: W-what-
Lugia: It’s no longer important~
Yoshi: ... Ookay... anyway...
Yoshi: It was... weird... normally Banette can’t open their mouths or their soul would drain out, but not hers... I’m just glad Ace wasn’t able to go on that mission... I couldn’t imagine him being a part of whatever amalgamation she was...
Lugia: Oh my...
Reid: That... sounds disturbingly... familiar... different, but still...
Lugia: You know, it reminds me of Dusknoir-maybe she was a reaper of souls and decided to ignore that duty.
Reid/Yoshi/Cassidy: What???
Lugia: I mean, it’s a thing, it’s part of Giratina’s job and all-
Reid: Please stop... Legendary Pokemon roles are just confusing...
Yoshi: And so is this reaper nonsense, besides, she’s dead, so it’s not like it matters...
Cassidy: M-maybe we should change the subject before you g-get-
Yoshi: You’re right, Cassidy... I still have a question to ask Reid.
Reid: Sigh... shoot..
Lugia: ... [Are they willingly being ignorant right now or do they just... not that I could blame them-especially Reid-if he knows as much as we do... that Proxy of Celebi’s is a problem... I envy them there... but maybe I should focus on my personal goals and-hmm... but still... this Banette...]
Giratina: And I have to admire this one’s soul... Annika was merely to distract this Banette, but... look at this beautiful soul... brimming with the lives of so many-many burned away by Victini... victims of missions that failed that she led... so many that are filled with pain, regret, hatred... but they were never allowed to become ghosts themselves... isn’t it fascinating, Dialga?
Dialga: No.
Giratina: It is to me... she single-handedly collected the population of a small island... she assisted in the genocide without even knowing it... ah.
Diagla: ...
Giratina: If only Annika was this thorough in Hoenn... hahah...
Dialga: Contact me when Father re-
Giratina: Father wants us to stay here... eventually they’ll want to talk about something... important...
Dialga: ... Another meeting?
Giratina: No. Just you, me and Palkia...
Dialgia: ... Why...?
Giratina: ...
Dialga: Are you listening? Gira? Stop gawking at that Banette’s disgusting soul and-
Giratina: What kind of timeline are we heading down, Dialga? Something feels... wrong?
Dialga: ... You know I do not speak of timelines and their futures.
Giratina: ... Right... then we wait.
<While everyone else continues down this timeline...>
Arceus: Ah, yes, because of the anomalies we’ve been letting develop and grow; humanity learned how to do our jobs and created life that should not be-it was one thing to make mechanical Pokemon-I can accept that-but those machines they made, that ripped through space to make what was once our place of peace-a place where Mew and I would create life and reincarnate safely-
Dialga: If by “Safely” you mean producing so much vile sludge that humans could utilize it-it’s a blessing in disguise that one of the anomalies purged it for us-
Arceus: I can agree there.
Dialga: Then why are we doing this? What’s the point in threatening to erase everything? Because of Mega Evolution? Because of the anomalies? What? Father?
Arceus: You are my God of Time; why do you ask what you understand already? For the amusement of a being watching beyond our world? If so, why should I tell them? Hmmm?
Dialga: ...
Arceus: My child... tell these other-worlders why? Come on, I’ll allow you to break the rules of time-like what’s happened to poor Palkia-
Dialga: STOP IT!!
Giratina / Palkia: ...
Arceus: ...
Dialga: ... What kind of gods are we...?
Arceus: The kinds that understand when our subjects have finally overstayed their welcome. Besides, this is a win-win... either the Legends conduct the mass purge I want, taking Mega Stones with it, or I reset it-everything-every single creature, back to square one-maybe I’ll leave a few out this time... maybe the new First Mew won’t be a little brat and create things I don’t want... maybe I’ll have more control over what I want to create instead of leaving it to a Mew again-maybe Mew won’t exist this time-
Dialga: You’re asking for me to attack you...
Arceus: Of course-you’re a liability, my child.
Dialga: ...
Arceus: One day you’ll slip up and that outburst will be an attack-
Dialga: You’re still holding your end of the bargain... if Mew turns towards their duties and only their duties once more, this all stops?
Arceus: Of course.
Giratina: Good luck with that.
Palkia: I think this is for the best, Dialga!
Dialga: ...
Arceus: You will understand one day, my chi-
Dialga: I’d rather you never called me that again.
Lele: Basically what they’re going to say is Arceus is threatening to basically kill us all to start fresh. We Legends didn't care before this was the plan, because our respective territories were only impacted if things went to a disastrous level-we were safe. Arceus tried calling the legends together for a meeting. Not a lot of us came and then learned of this “give up" plan and Mew’s obsession with what Arceus described as “abominations”.
Koko: And then Giratina made the suggestion…
>Some time ago...<
Arceus: You understand the consequences of that decision… not even you would be exempt if I made this act true.
Entei: There is some truth to Giratina’s beliefs… while I do not find ‘resetting’ as the answer, I couldn’t say I would be opposed to something similar...
Lugia: There’s always culling the population a bit…
Ho-Oh: Lugia… your malice…
Lugia: So what?
Ho-Oh: ...;
Xerneas: Life is not something that should be so easily removed…
Yveltal: As much as I hate to agree with you, Xerneas, I do… if ‘father’ felt the need to wipe away some problems, why not call me?
Zygarde: We should not participate in such an idea.
Yveltal: Whatever...
Koko: I… I’ll break that snake...!
Bulu: Calm… Koko… not now, not here.
Koko: Hrrgh…!!
Lele: They’re serious…?
Fini: We’d all be nothing, Alola, everything we’ve come to know would be ‘reset’... if that is what our gracious ‘gods’ are implying…
Lele: No way-
???: Staying silent is not a thing I’ll do here...!
Dialga: Giratina! This is madness!!!
Giratina: Is it, really?
Palka: …
Giratina: You can see every possible future, right, “brother”…? What happens? Tell us, all of us, why don’t you? Does Mew succeed in their obsession, or do we all suffer because of it? Will Jirachi or Deoxys return one day soon? What happens? Tell me.
Dialga: You know exactly why I cannot…
Giratina: Then this version of you is useless-
Celebi: Haven't we been through enough?!
Giratina: No-
Celebi: Silence!! Father… you sit there, wondering why the new Mew refuses their duties? I know I'm not alone when I say this can be fixed without genocide!
Arceus: …
Legends: …?
Arceus: Celebi… Celebi… you fail to understand my and Giratina’s interpretation of a ‘reset’...
Arceus: ‘Genocide’ implies ‘pain’… no… What I imagine… if acted upon… no one-not even you-any of you-will feel a thing… it will be instant, painless...
Celebi: …
Suicune: W-wha…?
Shaymin: No…
Koko: I’ll… kill them… both of them...
********************
Koko: Things… turned into a wave of emotions ranging from fear, anger to disbelief-Celebi landed another good hit on Giratina, so that was nice to see...
But that aside... The legends there chose their sides and Arceus entertained it all… it was clear that this was an attempt to motivate or demotivate us, and it worked in so many ways...
The news spread to the ones who didn’t go and they all had their own plans and they’re likely putting them all into motion as we speak... but our plan is to either force Mew-aka the “Strident King" into their duties, which is what sparked all of this in the first place or we will fight Arceus.
And when it comes to a battle plan, facing Arceus on their turf is wise-the space was made for Legends.
Lele: What Koko means by that, is that the space has an aura that resonates with our respective auras. It strengthens us all just being there.
Koko: But utilizing that newfound strength without understanding the intricacies of control over your auras, mind, body and spirit, you will easily exhaust yourself, even us Tapu could fall to that. If a battle of attrition ensued, we'd strategically exhaust Arceus’ stamina, which for all we know could be infinite. We do also have the power of Alola behind us if need be as well…
Lele: Koko’s the best at our Z-Move, so if pressed we have that. And… well…
Lele: Same, it's a stretch to assume Arceus doesn't have them near… or even a human proxy collecting them, maybe unknowingly…
Koko: You're giving that beast too much credit, Lele-
Lele: Yup. Necrozma at full power’s pretty brutal, it took everything Lyle’s team and his trainer had just to grant an opening to free Lunala from it...
Koko: Humph... they should’ve killed it back then. But Necrozma aside... Arceus’ power, from just an observation standpoint can’t be properly gauged... I’d need more information than that, but Bulu...
Lele: Admit it, Bulu saved your life-do you know how many legends would’ve probably attacked you if you tried anything there? Nearly all of them were there, silly~!
