Yes! So excited! Are the people that have went through doors going in and out or is it that once they're through it's a more permanent/lengthy stay until they can find the way out?

It is the latter!! Once a Dreamer is in (fully or partially aka left behind something like a soul fragment), they will have a very hard time getting out. One must first get past the wild dreamscape of the Grey and into the Ghost Town, where doorways are hidden within a massive, labyrinth-like city. Some may give up and go further into the Neither Place and onto the Empyrean Corridor to beg the Godheads for aid, however! Some Dreamers will end up there permanently, and will become Light Masters or Shadow Walkers (more on those later).

The Godheads and some of the Godbreathed, on the other hand, can come and go at will, either by casting a Shade (an illusion of themselves into the real world) or with the use of a Veil (aka a glamor).

How do Dreamers become aware that their dreams aren't just dreams like they think they are?

If they catch sight of a Spinner, Weaver, Stealer or Eater!! Within the dream itself. It would probably take a few times for them to realize they keep dreaming they are seeing this weird looking thing and become suspicious. Perhaps begin to try lucid dreaming! Hope this answers your question!!

So what are the Godhead roles like? Are they based on any kind of mythology or are they more original roles?

Hello and thank you for the question! They are not based on mythology but rather concepts. The allmakers are Allfather Time and Allmother Life, and then there are Godheads for things such as the various aspects of human life: psyche, memory, destiny, etc, then things such as light, dark, ruin, etc. The younger divine are earth-specific, so they represent things such as 'fire', 'earth', etc.

I cannot wait and have to ask, what are the gods and such going to be on the site? Are they already known/worshiped by the more human characters or are they not known?

Hello and thank you for the question!! The Godheads are original creations who were based mainly on concepts so as to avoid misrepresentation of any culture or religion (eg: Allfather Time). Within the lore, we have no religion that is canon, however if members would be interested in making up their own, we aren't going to stop them! I hope this answers your question!

Hey, really excited for this place! Also love the setting info that just dropped. Is there any particular earth-based setting dreamer/human characters would be focused from or is the site going to be focused just in the Penumbra with everyone being from all over?

Hello and thank you for the question! We DO indeed have a Waking World setting picked out. It will be in Michigan, in a spooky town little made-up town. The town itself is full of doorways to the Penumbra, one just has to find them!! As for dreamers (humans) who are stuck in the Penumbra, they can be from other areas of the globe. Hope this answers your question!

Hiii apologies for the TEASE!! And apologies in advance for this is going to be a teeny bit confusing without the Divinity list reveal but!!!

NIGHTMARE SPINNERS Nightmare Spinners were created by Father Havoc after an argument with Mother Psyche and Mother Mercy over ‘spoiling’ humankind. They, unlike the Weavers, look more akin to spiders, with the same four arms as the Weavers, but with large, black eyes set into their faces. They can assume any form they please when casting their Shade* into the Waking World, and they are decidedly nefarious creatures, controlled only by Nightmare Eaters.

NIGHTMARE EATERS In retaliation to Father Havoc’s Spinners, Mother Mercy created the Nightmare Eaters out of compassion for what was to befall the Dreamers. In their truest forms, Eaters are humanoid but have much larger mouths full of rows of sharp teeth. Despite their horrific appearance, they are gentle creatures, intensely misunderstood if ever seen in the Penumbra or within a dream. Like Dream Stealers, they cannot cast a Shade, but they can assume a more humanlike form in the presence of Dreamers.

*The Lore Pervert's Note: a Shade is like, if this were a scifi rpg, a hologram. Like a version of their self tossed into the real world, but they aren't fully there.
