(Jeremiah 29: 11-14)
If God allowed it, He has plans to restore it.
We all know Jeremiah 29:11, for many people it's their favorite verse. I love it too because it's a constant reminder that God's ways are greater than our situations, and He always has a postive outcome - not just for a situation but life as a whole.
But Jeremiah 29:11 is not a "stand alone" verse as it's so often used. The children of Israel was sent, by God into captivity because of constant rebellion. This captivity was meant to last for 70 years (verse 10) but after the 70 years were over, God would return to His people and preform His good thoughts towards them.
But the 70 years of punishment wasn't just punishment, it was also a period where the people were to re-dedicate themselves back to the one true God through prayer and by seeking His face.
God allowed them to go through the 70 years of captivity but He was also going to bring them out (through mercy) and restore them back (through grace) but the people had to give their hearts back to Him.
You may think to yourself that you've lost so much already in life. After doing things your way, you may think that you've messed everything up and it's impossible to fix things now. For you, it is impossible but with God nothing is impossible.
God has good plans He wants to carryout in your life but you have to pray so He can listen, seek His face so He maybe found, and search for Him with all your heart.
You do that and His mercy will deliver you and His grace will restore you.
