After coming down off the high of making a custom mixed metal ring for a bad ass artist musician (see previous post) I wanted to make a couple of SDF Original pieces (usually means doing whatever I feel like with the design and stone) for my inventory. I was really feelin a heavy gauge ring with an offset stone wrapped in gold. I have also been dying to hand fabricate a claw ring setting and utilize some of the skills I learned from my comprehensive stone setting class I took earlier this year. . This photo was taken right after I finished buffing them out and I picked them up as you see here and said to myself, wow this looks really cool. Get this pic! I am sure having a lot of fun exploring with new metals and new stones. This one happens to be 14K solid gold with high grade Damele Variscite and this imperfect yet very beautiful diamond.
