back in their castle in scotland, things were far more comfortable. visiting another court was always nerve wracking, but this? far more so. royals from all over were piling in –- kings, queens from all over the globe, and lina had never felt more on the outside in her life. it seemed impenetrable. no way to make a good impression when you were competing with the cream of the crop, no way to stand out among a crowd of excellence. this is where she waivers, fingers toying with a loose thread in her dress as she watches a group gather under some benches in the courtyard. she could join, probably, but what would she say? and how could she hide the fact that she was intimidated? it was this that kept her mind busy, so busy she hadn’t noticed her mother’s sudden appearance. as startled as she was internally, though, lina didn’t jump. a mother’s eyes would be able to read the situation as it were though, and so even lina couldn’t control the flush running up her neck to her cheeks. “ i didn’t realize there were so many of us. ” she smiles despite knowing her mother can read her like a book. “ they’re all quite beautiful, aren’t they? ” @goldcnhearted
