Manjushri treating Azure like he’s an annoying not neutered Tom cat is so funny to me
I can imagine him dropping off the sixth century China equivalent of baby cat food to the tiger monk cubs as child support on Azures behalf (Azure was unaware he was doing this)
Guanyin be like:
Manjushri holding Azure by the scruff like his a housecat, apologising profusely. They manifest at Lion Camel Ridge the very moment news of the Golden Cicada-turned-Tiger demon's cubs gets back to them. The location and species of the kittens sends them into a panic, espevially when they notice their celestial steed/diciple getting cozy with the parent!
Manjushri: "Oh gracious Buddha! I am so sorry Tang Monk. Though he showed no desire for the human women at Wuji, he is a tomcat at heart. I apologise if he's the one responsible for your litter!"
Tiger!Tripitaka, confused & holding the cubs: "Uh... ok?? He wasn't entirely responsible for their creation, but he did incidentally donate some life energy."
Manjushri, relieved: "Ah. So he is not at fault for seeding the earth as it's said? I still offer many blessings of health and joy to your family. I pray to see them grow into fine spirits."

The three tiger (maybe a liger?) cubs sleep through the whole interaction.
Guanyin smugly passes Tripitaka the regular "child support" payment of kitten food and wash cloths from Manjushri long after the cubs are weaned.
