Getting rejected by Tesoro makes me want to write a burn book/posts…but just about how much I love him omg stoppp😂😂😂
Literally made my day 😂
@goldenshowman continued from here.
More cash would not be the worst. Linn tends to spend more money than planned almost every time she goes out to stack up on supplies. Yes, winning more would certainly please her captain. The doctor would make up for all the times she overdid herself in the past. Tilting her head slightly to the woman cheering her on, persuading her to bet even more, the mink chuckles, not used to this kind of attention.
❝ You promise, yes? ❞ Her head turns to face Tesoro once again, before her eyes drift down to the pile of cash she claimed in the last games. Who knows? Maybe her luck with card games has bloomed, freed from this curse of never winning any game back then when she tried to play with the others of her crew.
❝ Alright. One more won't hurt. ❞ The woman eventually proclaims, back straightening, chest puffed out proudly with newfound confidence. If she really wins some more, hells, Kid wouldn't even need to hunt the title of being King of Pirates anymore. He will be stupidly rich, drowning in money!
"Carina, are you prepared for tonight's special event? As always I will be expecting no less than a flashy performance from you~"
How she hated the sound of his voice. Each time she heard his particular tone, her entire body stiffened and she had to put on the mask of a loyal employee. After all, didn't he forgive her the sins of stealing and give her a show? Where was her gratefulness?
Down the drain, that's where it was. If there was anything she hated more than anything, it was men in power who thought they could do whatever they wanted to anybody. And Tesoro could have his picture in the dictionary for the word Arrogance. Probably under bastard too, though.
She couldn't help but think about everyone he enslaved - but also all the money he possessed. She hated him equally for his depravity than his wealth. A man like him? Deserved nothing.
"Tesoro! You should know better by now, fufu" She let out a chuckle, eyes closed so she could hide her disdain behind a coy smile and softer expression.
"I wouldn't dare ruin the Gran Tesoro's reputation for flashiness! I promise you'll see stars tonight~"
She swallowed thickly, but nothing appeared on her features. Her plan was almost ready- she just needed people she could trust to ensure success.
She couldn't wait to put Tesoro back in his place. This bottom-feeder would soon pay up for his crimes.
“It’s hard to recognize the light when you’ve spent your whole life in the dark.”
Sentence Starters - The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
“Is that why you shine as brightly as a star? To keep the darkness at bay?” Shalria inquired cooly, sipping at her wine as she slowly mulled over his words. The costly beverage was cold and fresh, taste sweetening upon her tongue. Tesoro was likely enjoying his drink too, especially since it was the first time he’d ever mentioned anything about his life other than as a man of talent. It was difficult to believe that a man so full of personality could have indeed spent his whole life in the dark but Shalria knew it wasn’t impossible. Gild Tesoro wasn’t known as the World’s Greatest Showman for nothing and the idea that the King of the Gran Tesoro, Lord of the World’s Largest Entertainment City might have his own dark secrets hidden beneath the veneer of glorious wealth and gold decorating his vast realm wasn’t really that far-fetched. After all, she’d seen many of his ’employees’ scrambling to serve his every whim, no different than how the slaves behaved back home in Mariejois. Honey brown eyes slyly flickered up and down beneath the orange-tinted lenses of her eyewear. Tesoro wasn’t terribly old, just shy of forty years but in that moment between sipping his wine, the atmosphere shifted and suddenly he seemed so much older, the premature lines of his face looking heavier than she’d recalled ever seeing before. The blueness of his eyes, bright as his gaze was, had a faraway look to them as though his thoughts had drifted back to less pleasant times, when he hadn’t always been the illustrious ‘Casino King’ so many people had grown to love and fear.
“Be that as it may, there is plenty of light in your life now. The Gran Tesoro shines like the moon itself even when sailing through the darkest waters and your performances bring light to the lives of those worthy enough to see you. Surely that’s something to be proud of?” Shalria said in her most pleasant voice, wondering if the showman would continue his line of thought or leave that conversation for another time...
📖 Fave book
Hmmm 🧐
I could answer this in a few ways, especially because there’s no specification on comics/novels/ etc.
I’ll obviously always and forever love One Piece & I’m batshit and own just about every physical manga volume currently available.
Hmmmm, novel, I’m gonna have to say Darksiders: The Abomination Vault
This book always puts me through an emotional rollercoaster when I read it because my man Death has gone through so much & tries so hard for his younger siblings/fellow horsemen. This book really did a great job in showing just how protective Death is over his siblings (mainly War in this one) and would rather any torture or punishment from the Charred Council be done to him & him alone.
Death my love, my sweetheart, therapy is a thing please go.

〖☠〗-- He had been winning big. Casinos, shows, games--all as far as the eye could see. His crewmates seemed to be enjoying themselves, too. But Ace? He was feeling uneasy. People walking around serving.. they seemed unhappy. Winnings in his pockets, the pirate hummed and hooked his thumbs on his belt.
His interest was piqued when he was pulled into the high roller room.
“Talk about a show.. that guy with the dice seems like a masochist if I’ve ever seen one.” Lifting his sunglasses, dark hues scanned the room. “I feel like I’ve been brought in for a reason.”
@goldenshowman answered the call~
🕷It took everything in her small body not to explode with excitement as the fireworks of lights filled her gaze. Sure she’d seen a party in full swing but this caused every fiber of her being to move, then again the raven hair could never pass up a good beat.
Music had been her life for so long, the need to dance and sing pushed down as she still took to find the source in the gold cladded wonderland. Though there was always a sense of being on her guard, being around slot machines and card tables brought her mind back to Rainbase.
Things were different now however , that chapter had closed and new one started. Time changes everything after all. That and who could feel trapped in such a wonderous place?
She’d return to the ship shortly but first her goal was to figure out where the music was coming from. Picking up the pace she followed the cheering, hopefully not missing to much, that would be a shame. 🕷
