MANTIS GIGGLED, and wrapped an arm around the taller's waist. It must have been so frustrating for Gwen to have a friend with short legs, given that the blonde was definitely built like a supermodel. ❛ It must be amazing being tall ❜ she pouted, trying her hardest to take long steps, so they could avoid being late and getting lectured...again. ❛ While you take a step I have to take three and that's just not fair ❜

With her meek 4'11'', Mantis had to practically jog to catch up to Gwen - or anyone really. It was embarrassing. ❛ I heard that if you avoid sitting down you can grow taller, do you think that's true? ❜

SHE HADN’T KNOWN what happened. In one moment she had been walking back to class, and the next she was on the floor, being kicked and punched. The yells of ‘loser’ and 'freak’ still echoed in her head. Where they left her on the ground, Mantis had remained, staring blankly ahead, numb to all around her. When a soft hand touched her, the alien gasped, blinking up at the person - expecting more aggression, but instead she saw Gwen.
