We all know the epilogue for TOH explicitly stated that Luz ended up missing celebrating her 15th, 16th, and 17th birthdays, but I think it also brings up the possibility that Luz might not have been able to enjoy her 14th birthday either.
Because if we are to trust that Luz's birthday happens around late May/early June (since the Kingceñera occurs not very long after she finished her finals), then that means her birthday would have been very close in time to the day she was meant to go to Summer Camp.
If Luz's enrollment to Summer Camp was a last minute thing and her birthday takes place before the day she heads to camp, then perhaps she could have had a generally happy 14th birthday, but if she was signed onto the camp sometime earlier, then whatever celebration she had would have been soured by the impending day of heading to camp.
It gets worse if her birthday happens after the day she was supposed to go to camp, quite literally preventing her from actually being able to properly celebrate it on the actual day (unless the camp throws one for her, but I somewhat doubt that). Obviously of course, Camila would likely try to find a way to make it up to Luz, either by celebrating the birthday early before Luz goes to camp or setting up some big delayed birthday surprise for when Luz comes back from camp (or both).
Alas, the former would run into the same issue of being incredibly soured by the whole camp admission, and the latter would mean that Camila ends up unknowingly throwing the surprise birthday party for Vee instead.
Of course this is all speculation, but it is something interesting to consider.
