The focus will be on what a gilding restorer needs to know and what the student needs to learn to get there. Everyone will have the chance to lay and burnish some water gilded leaf and learn about water versus oil gilding while making a mould and casting a small ornament. Preparing gesso putty will also be featured, a true staple in the gilding restorer's world!
