Apparently interest is everything because I've been spending my few bits of free time doing anything but translate. I just can't deal with this shit when I'm work-dead. However, my summer job's last day is tomorrow, so after that I can actually have time for GomAi and no excuses for not doing it. Please punish me for my sins.

Some Gomen, Aishiteru thoughts from someone who’s only seen episode 1:

> I hope Ritsu continues his video logs. The sheer mediocrity/simplicity of them really tugs at the heartstrings and I love the "proof I lived" cliché. > His obsession with his mother hurts me. Clearly he has psychological issues up the wazoo, since he went so far as to run from the Okazakis (who I assume were pretty good people) out of loyalty to someone he’s never met. He loves the idea of his mother more than his actual mother, I think, which is super unhealthy. > The scene where his mum denies him hurt like hell, and I have to say Tomo’s acting was sterling in it as far as his facial reactions went. But at the same time you can’t argue that her reaction wasn’t fitting; she was a bitch about it who went pretty far with her yelling, but at the same time this was a total stranger in her home who tried to hug her (in a culture where physical contact is… y'know). And Ritsu doesn't even know what kind of person she is, so? > Satoru sucks. He’s so annoying and spoiled, lmao. > Touko is less annoying than Satoru, but damn he has to pick better women. > Rinka was okay to me until she went and said Ritsu followed her all the way from Korea because he likes her. Like… holy shit. Get your head out of your ass, you’ve been in love with an idiot for 24 years, for fuck’s sake. > It sucks that Ran kicked Ritsu out of the family. “Saranghae” my ass. > If Ritsu had to have a happy ending with a girl, I’d really prefer it to be with Wakana. Not in a nuclear family capacity given she’s an MRF, but they are so cute together I just. I can’t? Wakana and Sakana are my favourites after Ritsu, I legitimately can’t handle it. > Ritsu is so fucked up man I love?? The romance aspect of this drama is lame and annoying as far as episode 1 is concerned, but at this point the only reason to watch is to see his mummy issues get even worse as it goes on.

I’ve reached that point where Tomoyan’s K-Pop haircut no longer bothers me and I just want him to be pinned down and ruined.

Also, I’ll be working on translations today after work. If I can get 4 straight hours without being bothered, the subs should be up sometime tonight.
