I would love to see what you actually have in mind when it comes to writing certain characters, i know for a fact that they are not just what they appear on the surface and people actually tend to write while looking only at a shallow aspect. They've been fleshed out alot though and Gojo for example, the fact that Gege went to great lengths to peel more and more layers of him to show just how very much human he is, rather than what people around him see him, and his fans especially here. The fact that they took every jokey comment he ever made about him as a fact but refused to look at the narrative just shows. It brings me to some metas I've been reading about him, when the text and authorical comments don't aling together, and in this case especially people should focus on what the text gives, rather than bending creators words into something bland and put it like it's meant to be in the narrative its self. Gojo always fascinated me though, and it's not just goofiness and playfull nature he shows as a mask. It's actually how human he is, how despite all, despite being dehumanized so many times, he desperately clings onto his humanity, he wants to be among those little friends he has left and his students especially. There's no doubt in my mind that he'd actually deep down long for a soulmate, someone he can go to and someone who will accept not THE Gojo but just Satoru, someone who will say "You're so much more than strongest, you're Satoru". What you write on the surface is beautiful, it always astonishes me, but when it comes to a more deeper level of the character, i always wondered, what are they thinking when they are with the one they love? How does he feel? It's things like these that are fleshed out outwardly but when you actually dive into characters mind and what they feel it's really something else. Gojo's limitless is also a metaphor to not only protect him physically, but also emotionally aswell, he's separated himself from the whole world, because he is afraid to show that precious vulnerability. I wanna know what's going through his mind when he's near his love, when he holds them, the time where nothing is separating them, rather both of them are separating together from the rest of the world together, enjoying their little solace that was built together. It's at that moment that he knows love is actually limitless and beyond it won't end.
As for Getou though... I'd hate to admit this but in some of his personality aspects i can relate to him alot (no not the murderous side lol) and unfortunately because of that, it would also be hard to explain why exactly. But all i can say is, he might even be more complex than Gojo but i suppose that's what makes their relationship so tragic, or at least one example.
Sowwyyy for such a long read but i had to get this off from my chest, both are extremely well written characters and i think alot of people need to focus on them past their exterior behavior.
