First off: Omfg gay dudes acting like they invented femininity. Give me a fucking break. “Madonna ripped off the vogue scene, nicki Minaj is ripping off drag queens”???? Um excuse me - drag queens by definition exaggerate stereotypical femininity (and often mock women outright - daresay they parody women for entertainment). Only one example out of zillions- using “fish” to describe a particularly “feminine” or “passing” queen - as in, fishy vagina. Really classy - feeding into the exaggerated gay horror of vaginas. Not to mention the blatant transmisogyny that often is spewed from people in those scenes. But I digress. In the same vein, Gay white men are always goin “omg YASS SLAY ICE QUEEN SO RATCHET YAAAASS” basically ripping off/mocking black men AND women.

Good try though. Those who know me I’m not exactly a fan of azealea banks - she is definitely a hater - but I don’t believe she is being homophobic here. Childish definitely, but not homophobic. I see how people can say she should not try to appropriate words like “twink” and “faggot” but then again maybe white male gays should fucking stop appropriating black female identity.

Not to mention how many other male artists out there (take tyler the creator for instance) use all kinds of homophobic vitriol in their songs and say all kinds of crazy shit irl and no one seems to be busting down their doors or accusing them of hating their gay fans!

Also not to mention the outrage over calling Perez Hilton a “messy faggot” when his whole career has been made by saying nasty shit about people all over the Internet. Maybe his blog is more tame now but I remember in 2005 him drawing dicks and cum leaking out of the mouths of (usually female) celebrities he didn’t like. But he can do whatever he fuckin wants apparently.

They just think azealia banks needs to toe the line because she owes her gay fans something. Referring to that other awful part where the author says artists like Britney Spears owe their popularity or career to their male gay fans.

She does not owe them shit, esp when like 75% of the time gay dudes think it’s cool to make fun of and hate on women then get salty and cry homophobia when their blatant misogyny gets thrown back in their face. The author of this article can go drown in his salty white male tears. The incredible amount of hypocrisy and entitlement in this article just made my ears steam and I’m too embarrassed to post rants on Facebook. So here I am because no one reads this damn tumblr anyway.

It seems like I keep posting rants about gay men myself lately… Maybe I’m the homophobe~~~ ohps no but really like I have and love my queer identity but it will always be less of a priority than defending my feminist identity- especially when sometimes they feel at odds. Defend other women always!!!!!!
