You know what I was just thinking? By spending time with Katara, Zuko learned he could be forgiving and start things over with less anger. By spending time with Zuko, she learned to embrace her own darkness and rage, and not just because of what was done to her, but because we all carry that within ourselves. All that without losing her sense of compassion <3
they were honestly one of atla’s best relationships (platonic or otherwise) and i miss them so much!
