Okay I’m SURE somebody has said this before but I literally just started crying while standing alone in my kitchen because I was trying to figure out what Ransom and Holster’s ship name is and my brain supplied Holsom (like,,, Wholesome?) and it’s sO PERFECT I ACTUALLY CRIED BLESS

Ben Platt is an Angel™️

Hi I just saw a post about how amazing Ben Platt is and I wanted to briefly rant about how much I love him:  So I was incredibly, undescribably lucky enough to see Dear Evan Hansen when I was in New York a few weeks ago, and when I went to stage door, I got very lucky and Ben came out.  Although he doesn’t talk while at stage door because of (perfectly justified) vocal rest, he still tends to interact with people that make comments or thank him by making faces or mouthing things etc. 

Some people near me thanked him and he did things like poke his tongue out at them in response, make eye contact, or just smile. (It was adorable. I love him)

 I was at the front, and when I gave him my playbill to sign, my hands were shaking so much that it bumped him writing and made him mess up his signature a tiny bit. I apologised profusely, because I was INTENSELY anxious, and freaking out a huge amount (as you can probably imagine, because, Ben Platt. enough said) and when I was apologising he stopped, looked up, made eye contact with me, smiled, mouthed “you’re good!” to me, and gave me two thumbs up. And that might sound simple, but he was so busy that it was honestly the best thing anyone had ever done. As someone with social anxiety, I find it quite rare for people to be understanding and sympathetic, and even moreso kind when situations like this happen. 

The fact that he likely understood how terrified I was in that moment, and he went out of his way to be incredible to me when he was already doing everyone a HUGE favour by putting himself in that situation and signing so many playbills, just justifies to me how amazing he is. There aren’t words for how much I love him and how much his work in DEH, as well as being able to meet him, has changed my life. 

(I hope all you fansens are having an amazing day! Remember you exist at the same time as the incredible Ben Platt so things aren’t too bad and you can get through whatever you’re going through!!!!!)
