I headcanon that Five has a habit of checking on all the Umbrellas when they're sleeping to make sure everyone's alive and okay and accounted for.

Sometimes he just looks at them from the doorway and sometimes he goes to check their pulse, if they look too similar to the corpses he buried.

Claire and Stan quickly make the list of nightly rounds, at least when they're in the same city as five.

When Grace is born (Lila and diegos baby) they were confused (but relieved) that she slept so soundly and rarely woke them up crying. They still had to get up to feed her but she wasn't waking up screaming often

It wasn't until they found five sitting in her room, holding her and recounting some umbrella academy story that probably isn't suitable for children, that they realized it was cause of five.

Basically i headcanon that five would go and check on grace (to make sure she was like. Alive) and he couldn't just Leave if she started crying or seemed upset. So five would stay and hang out with her. He'd normally teleport away before Diego or Lila found him

When they found him the first time Lila just threw the bottle for grace at his face and said "well if you're going to break in you're going to feed her, I'm going back to bed"

Five did obviously but he grumbled about it (mostly cause he didn't like being ordered around by lila)

Alright head canon: Five memorized a bunch of books while trapped in the apocalypse. He was worried about the few remaining books being destroyed and being unable to read anything, losing the last contact with human words he has

This ended up being helpful cause now he can read to his nieces and nephews from memory. He does sometimes grab a book but it's just for the pictures. The kids like looking at the pictures

Heres a drawing of Uncle Five and Coco (aka one of Diego and Lila's twins) watching fireworks together

Coco is wearing pink and blue because her clothes are hand-me-downs from Grace. Pink and blue seem to be Grace's canon favorite colors!! She wears a pink and blue dress at her birthday party and wears pink and blue again in another scene. Coco is happy to wear her big sisters clothes cause she loves those colors to. The snake stuffed animal was a gift from Five, he buys Grace and Coco pink and blue stuff all the time.

Listen. If i had to watch all of season mother fucking four to learn what Grace's favorite colors are. Yall are gonna listen to me yap about the favorite colors. I took a bullet in the head for this company (/silly, also a reference) so now yall have to listen to me yap.

I really like the idea of five being the cool uncle that stan and Claire ask to hang out with when they want to do something a bit rebellious, and Five is just. Kinda bored the entire time. He still goes cause family but Also he's internally grumbling like an old guy

For example, eleven year old Claire asking five to sneak into a pg 13 horror movie with her, cause Claire doesn't want to go alone but Allison won't let her, and now fives stuck watching some boring thriller while Claire is shrieking and grabbing onto his arm for several hours

Obviously five stays, and obviously five picks up the phone when Claire calls him every night for a week cause she's scared of the dark. Cause five is a good uncle who loves his niece

He does grumble internally the entire time though

I wanna draw five picking up his nieces and nephews from the school bus stops whenever their parents are to busy, and then he walks them home and makes them snack and let's them play before helping them with their homework

I think five would keep track of all the stuff his nieces and nephews like and then just. Randomly give it to them. Cause that's how awkward old people try to bond and that is who five is at heart

Claire mentions that she had fun baking with her mom and five randomly drops off like. So much baking stuff. Baking mixes and flour and weird extracts and a fuckton of sprinkles but also stuff like whisks and bowls and just...in short its very clear five went through the baking aisle of Walmart and bought (stole) some of everything

Allison already owned most of it but neither of them tell Five that

Stan gets into puzzles and five gets him SO many puzzles. Like a ridiculous amount of puzzles. They take up the majority of stans closet now. Five also got a bunch of frames and whatnot so Stan can display them on his walls when he's done

Five of course helps stan make them when stan asks. Five knows some tricks from doing them in the apocalypse (I just. Like the idea of him doing puzzles in the apocalypse. I know it isnt entirely in character but its a fun headcanon) and it's way more fun to do with his nephew.

Diego has to kick five out his house at night regularly cause stan will call five, to help him with a puzzle, and they'll be up till 3 or so working together. Five always brings good snacks
