I did very much enjoy the first episode of ExU: Divergence.
But...
My nitpicky self thinks Liam was too nice about the Goodberries. Too nice about Wanderer (though that one's more because Brennan had already bent the rules).
Goodberry says it provides "all nutrition" for a day. Arguably, that includes water. Yes, the Con saves were based on more than lack of food, BUT - you get 10 Goodberries a day, there are only 12 of you. So you only need "nutrition" for two. Which means everyone would have to fail their Survival checks to not have enough. You're still going to have Con saves from all the hiking, and the harsh environment, but it might be a slightly easier DC? Say 5 points lower? Also - given Brennan gave them Advantage on other rolls because of Wanderer, I'm surprised he didn't do it for that as well. Sure, they can't get the full effect - it's not a plentiful environment - but it's not like they lost all knowledge and skills, there's just less to find. So something like Advantage would be a decent modification.
It's weird, because Brennan is usually really good at honouring player creativity and chutzpah, and seems out of character for him not to honour Liam and Celia clearly building characters to have relevant abilities.
*shrug*

My character Runt has changed a lot over her current adventure. The first two pictures exemplify that. Not only has she broken off with her Mama, she's grown healthier and heartier. However, while she's striving for her "Good End, she has a number of bad endings she needs to avoid.
Below is a note involving her potential futures. From experimental Goodberries, her Mama's Studies, body theft, and utter cowardice, she hopes to reach her happy ending.
Cousin Runt-Level 9 Hexblooded Bladsinger (Gnoll).
Runt's Futures: (Worst to best)
Dead: In many futures, Runt dies a mundane death. Despite her plans, her schemes, and her luck, she finds herself in the grave, with no way of coming back.
Worthless Runt: In certain futures, Runt becomes so hopeless, that she attempts to flee and hide from her mama. In most of these worlds, she ends up dead. In some, she’s able to maneuver herself to somewhere safe, with lots of foods and books. She’s rots a slow death there, turning into a worthless blob.
Mama's Minion: One of the saddest futures for Runt is the potential of her not breaking free of her Mama. She remains a slave to her machinations and is too loyal, and too afraid, to go against her word. She’ll die eventually, but she’ll never be more than a pathetic, groveling little sycophant to her Ma.
Berry Blighted: When met with the insane, Runt’s mind was shattered. Her obsession with her cooking became a mania with her, and her experiments began to warp her, and those who ate her food. Her goodberries now grow, infecting the woods and world around her. However, she’s become as rotten and fermented as her own fruit.
Runt the Clown: Mama’s blood is quite infectious. After her death, her foul nature infected Runt, warping her into a parody of herself. She may have her strength, but she’s also inherited her foul throne.
Envy Incarnate: Mama, proud of her youngest daughter, decided to reward her. She took Runt’s mind, her soul, and transplanted them into Lilly’s body. Worse yet, Runt reveled in her new form. The souls of her sisters, revolted, left her to her own future. The Seven Sisters: One day, Runt realized the truth. That her power, and the love for her sisters, was stronger than her mother's. Together, she and the spirits of her sisters came together and bashed her mother to oblivion. They came together and fell the tyrant. And they all lived happily ever after.
On Magic Missile
D&D 5e is the 1st edition to make magic missile a misnomer. In previous editions, it created one (1) missile. ONE. As in missile, singular. The spell created multiple missiles at higher levels, BUT STILL.
In contrast, 5e’s magic missile creates three (3) missiles. THREE. As in missiles, plural. It should be renamed magic missiles, but to do so would be sacrilege. It’s possibly the most iconic spell IN THE GAME.
“Why the change,” you query? I’ll tell you. Cantrips. In previous editions, cantrips dealt little-to-no damage. Like, 1d3 damage—tops—without scaling. 5e changed that. Now they deal like 3x that AND scale. Consequently, a 1st-level spell dealing 1d4 + 1 damage—automatic or no—does not befit its lofty perch in the annals of arcane spellcraft.
Nomenclature aside, I quite like the change. Sniping your enemies with three (3) unerring darts is a cinematic image. That it creates a plurality of missiles at the jump, rather than at some future level one may never attain, is also more satisfying. Besides, goodberry has always affected multiple fruits, so it's not without precedent.
