friendship ended with DeviantArt
A year ago or so, I said that if DA is gonna mess with N*FTs - I’m leaving. Some people told me, that DA is not gonna do this, since they released the DeviantArtProtect thing and that makes them anti-N*FT. We can now attach N*FTs to our deviations. Congratulations. Still I could give their site another chance, if they didn’t shoot themselves in the leg with the AI stuff. I do not care if they made that button opt-out by default after people got really angry with them. They clearly wouldn’t change it from opt-in to opt-out if not the backlash. They were clearly ready to profit from the fact that the deceased artists and the artists who left DA long ago woudn’t know and wouldn’t be able to do anything about their art being fed to an AI. This is not something I could get over with as a person, whose closest friend passed this Summer. So yeah, I’m nuking my DeviantArt gallery. I didn’t feel any emotional connection to the place anyways, even though I was a Deviant for 11 years. This is not the place I knew and loved when I was a kid.
