What reason (mako and the krew are all alive) would be a reason for Bolin to struggle and fall into a depression? Like if Opal was killed in a battle, like a year after book 4, can you explain your thoughts on bolins metal grief profess? Would he shut ppl out, would be mad at himself and start acting out?? How would the recovery process eventually go? This interests me a lot. Also what if mako and Bolin found out post book four that they were really half brothers? Part 2 hang on
Part 2: like makos bio dad was still out there and mako found him and the dad was pretty chill and nice but for some reason or another maybe didn’t know about mako, or for whatever reason did know about him and he was still nice but it didn’t work out and nioki had San race him as his own? Bet Bolin would have mixed feelings and be a bit jealous
Wait! I just ... I just seen a post with someone talking about Bolin’s grieving process that was basically this. Okay here it is, I forgot it was about an au but it goes into how Bolin would be if Mako died and oof. Recovery from any death just takes time mixed with a little bit of love and support. Which he’d get from his friends and family.
Honestly I don’t think Bolin would be jealous. If anything I think he’d be excited. If not for himself then for Mako who never really had anyone to look our for him. Bolin had Mako to play the role as dad and while that’s not the same as actually having one there, he still deeply appreciates his brother’s effort to it.
Mako would probably be awkward as fuck and may rely a lot on Bolin’s charismatic presence. Bolin’s also his little brother, he’s Mako’s whole world. If the man is not there to support and respect Bolin, he’s not there for Mako. Father or not, Mako would drop his ass like a stone in water.
