I read somewhere once that you should always keep a photo of your first fish, first boyfriend/girlfriend, and first car. Well, we’ve said goodbye to my Altima. Like my mom has said about our previous kitchen table- I know it’s “JUST” a car. But this was my first car. It was my moms first, and at 14 she let me sit behind the wheel for the first time in our church parking lot. Then at 16 I learned how to drive in it, with my mom or my dad in the passenger seat (pretend stepping on the brakes of course). It’s been through 5 different jobs. It’s carpooled lots of people. It’s been a confessional of sorts, where deep conversation has gone down over Long trips. It’s picked people up and dropped them off. It carried my baby dolls safely while I was working. It took me to Port Jeff for the first time to see Branden, it took me again on May 2 to marry him. It took us both to Niagara Falls and back for our honeymoon. It was a place I sat and waited, for classes, for work, for lunch. And while I’m so over sinking money into it to be fixed, I’m going to miss my first car. Thanks for always getting me there safely. They always say that life is about the journey, not the destination, anyway. 💕✌🏼️🚘 // (at Friends Auto Repair)
