Nothing quite brings me childlike glee like taking a fellow bookworm to the only fiction-focused bookstore in my city. And the book hauls that result from it.
My friend picked an Asimov for me, while I picked them Maus. And of course I had to pick Poe.
Reading Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping (on a dead man) in the morning with cha (bengali word for tea) and practising pronouncing and reading hangeul ( korean alphabet).
Hangeul is so interesting! How the addition of more strokes in a character leads to more emphasis in its sound! And how the vowels are interconnected to each other. Fascinating. I want to do a deep dive on the history of the language.
Evening reading session with green tea and snacks.
Loving Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping (on a Dead Man) by Jesse Q. Sutanto. Its the second book in the Vera Wong series. I loved the first book and the second book is turning out to be a delight too!
Current Read: Days at the Torunka Café by Satoshi Yagisawa
I am 24 pages in and the book has a mystery element to it but is also slow-paced. I am liking it so far.
In other news, I finished The Thursday Murder Club by Richard Osman and loved it. Perfect blend of mystery, humour and drama. I am excited to read the sequels.
It's been a while since I've read a poetry book, and if you've been with me for years now, you know how much I love reading them 🤚🏽
This read is basically an impulsive one for me, I ended up picking this one yesterday on my way to the university and finished it last night 🙈
LVOE is sectioned into 5 parts, and among all those collections, I made 16 bookmarks in total for this collection: her (5), love 5), wander (1), soul (5). Sadly, I don't think I had fave (will recheck again 🙈). Also attached these 11 on the post.
There's a few ones that I adored and resonated to me but the majority was quite not so striking. The ambience is giving a peaceful atmosphere or a relaxed tone, which really helped me read this in a day. Would I recommend this? Mmmm, I think not so much, if I'm being honest.
I rated this a 3⭐️. I'm not sure if I'm checking the other collection from this author since this one is his highest-rated poetry books.
I'll definitely be reading more poetry books from different authors in the future once again 💖
