DX Orca Booster 5050 / Tega Sword Akatsuki

I actually thought about passing this one up. The other weapon armors, while fun at first, are a bit underwhelming over time and take up a lot more space than normal Zords. It was actually me seeing this in the show that got me to pick it up. I was also thinking of getting Tega Sword Origin to wear it so they'd have matching reds, but it looks like its added flares are screwed into the back, so it couldn't wear the halo, which is a bummer.

Just to go over this one a bit, it's very easy to figure out how all the noises work (which I sometimes have trouble with). When a gun, pull trigger for shot, hold trigger for big shot, pull hammer and push trigger for finisher, and pull and hold for 5-ring finisher. As a robot, push the trigger for a slash sound and hold the trigger for the finisher.

You're capable of mixing and matching parts with some of the other weapons. By bending the sword along its transformation hinge, you can also get some decent poses, I found, including a sword plant (which is probably the most common pose in my room).

Overall, it's better than the other weapons, and has a more complete look, but it's still a DX Gozyuger weapon at the end of the day. I half bought it so I'd have somewhere to put all the Gozyuger's rings... But all that's left seems to be Ryo Tega Sword. I'm still waiting on pictures before I preorder that, but I've heard people say it has a big combined mode, so that'll be cool if it's true.

DX Goode Burn / Giganto White Burn / DX BeaKuma 50

Ah, a combo. And a pretty fun one. While we've gotten a few combos over the past few years, we haven't really gotten one like this. BoonBoomger was all large auxiliary Zords, the added posability in King-Ohger and DonBrothers made theirs somewhat unstable, Zenkaiger and Kiramager had some fun combos but never a true multi-Megazord one, a lot of Ryusoulger's were uncomfortably partsformy because of that line's gimmick, Lu/Pato's were underwhelming and unstable, Kyuuranger's had their own unique sets of problems... Yeah, the last real good set of combos was from Jyuohger, which was 9 years ago. Honestly happy to get to experience new engineering like this again.

The Good: Goode Burn is a solid robot. Transforming from fist to robot is pretty simple, with you only having to disconnect the waist to go from one to the other. It has old school posability, but also has the ability to sit, which it uses to combine with BeaKuma. The combined mode is also super fun, with everyone breaking up into a few parts for you to puzzle together. It looks a little weird from the side, but great from the front. On the note of possible things to watch out for in the future, one of Goode Burn's shoulders (the thumb) has an odd joint that goes unused here, and Giganto White Burn has open hands that can accomodate weapons it doesn't have, so there may be an even bigger form in the future. Hopefully.

BeaKuma 50 is ok. It actually fits my adult hand and has lights, sounds, and voice clips. It also has a simple combination with Goode Burn, but it's actually really interesting how they link together and balance.

The Bad: Goode Burn is very light and hollow, similar to Tega Sword. This is to make it wieldable as a weapon, but it's extremely noticeable from the back. And while I like the combined mode, there are some weird proportions going on when you look at it from any angle but front.

BeaKuma 50 is kinda boring. If I had waited to see photos instead of immediately preordering it, I'd probably have skipped it. When the year's over, a lot of the weapons are probably going into storage.

Overall, Goode Burn is very fun and I would very much recommend it if you already have Tega Sword. BeaKuma is easily skippable, though, and I can't really think of a reason to recommend it outside of you liking the character. Still, after not being the most excited about the weapons, having another Megazord has my spirits back up. I haven't bought Orca Booster 5050 yet, as I'm being more cautious about my purchasing of this year's line, but I'm hoping it's just as fun as this one.
