Just finished my third drawing for #childhoodweek on 'Battle'. In the building I grew up, the festival of Holi meant war. Each wing against the other, who gets who drenched the most! The entire evening before would be spent meticulously filling buckets and buckets of water balloons, our team had to have enough ammo, it was a matter of pride you see.The war itself was insane - all three terraces would be *stuffed* with kids scampering about attacking and dodging and going absolutely nuts squealing and laughing. It was such mad fun :D Once everyone had been sufficiently drenched, we'd all go to the compound to get hot fresh jalebi and fafda. The sweetest kind of truce ever! I really miss the simplicity of it all. These days there are no more water balloons. The building hires a fancy DJ and there's some fake rain for people to dance in. And kids bust some moves to Sheila. Mannn, save those things for the grown ups please, if you must that is. Bring back the kids their balloons! ----------------------------------------------- #childhoodweek2017 #cw2017 #battle #war #waterballons #holi #childhood #goodold90s
