Caitlin came in for a consultation. She knew very well the kind of marks she wanted to carry: the traditional Waray/Visayan island motif.
An embrace to her Philippine's family history - her roots. 🖤🖤🖤
She had been researching on her own, and so had I. We were able to exchange ideas and information, trying to approach it in a traditional manner on placement and construction (being aware of the fact that I cannot perform a traditional batok).
It has been a beautiful journey together. The tattoo keeps expanding and we keep learning ... in the process we have had meaningful conversations on the complexities of identity and belonging. And we embrace it all.
Thank you Caitlin for allowing me to be part of this ✨
and sharing what you discover on meaning, while being open on the way to compose 🖤
