Not Dealing With Other People's Shit
goodybrains replied to your post: Hatred On My Dash
Nooooooo. :(
Goody, you're good. :)
My life is too short (and getting shorter every day) to deal with other people's shit.
It's just not worth it as they detract value from my experience here. I come to Tumblr for:
Camraderie
Friendship
Joy
Fun
Hatred does not contribute to these things in any way, shape, or form; doubly since it angers me beyond rational thought. Anger is not healthy for me mentally, physically, or spiritually, so I try to remove all sources of irritation from my life.
Tim and I agreed that you are our favorite internet person and we would like to hang out with you. Tim is in Long Island and I am in Brooklyn. Let's plan something for a weekend soon!
Aw, thanks! You’re giving me feels, so I will ignore the “in”/”on” Long Island issue for now. :)
To be honest, I’ve been feeling despair of late wrt Tumblr, and it is good to know that someone out there somewhere appreciates what I do. Because I have very little contact with my “audience”, such as it is, sometimes it feels like I’m riding a stationary bike: I’m doing a lot of pedaling, but I ain’t gettin’ anywhere. Sometimes, I feel as if I might as well write my thoughts on a piece of paper and throw them into a ravine. It certainly would save a lot of people’s time including my own.
I would love to hang with youse guise! Two things to keep in mind:
Due to vagaries of the public transit out here in Bumfucked Nowhere, it’s easier if I were come out to say Queens, Brooklyn, or Manhattan then it would be for you to come this way.
Weekends are the best, and even then it would have to be in the afternoon or the evening (I work nights, you see, so I usually sleep until noon…)
Keeping those two things in mind, all I need is a date, time, and place!
(actually, there’s a #3: I’m an old fart, and I don’t move around as well as I used to). :)
What is a "Parami"
A year or two and another blog ago goodybrains asked several of us a question about if Merriam Webster asked us to add a new word to the dictionary, what would it be.
My choice, which I made up, was "Parami". I was/am tired of the words "girlfriend" and "boyfriend", especially when used by adults. Those words seem juvenile in that if you are in a relationship with someone as an adult, then there is so much more at stake than when you are younger.
The root word "para" means alongside. The "mi", of course is me. I took the cue from the the word paramour, but that is more of an illicit love and so did not fit what I meant when I wanted to talk about the woman I am building this life with.
To me, the word can mean anything from girlfriend to wife, or boyfriend to husband, and include all of the shadings in between and beyond.
