My first post!
Welcome everyone! This is the first time I've ever written a blog post (believe it or not), and I am sooooo excited! You may at this stage be wondering what on earth I have to say that might actually be interesting to read (a valid concern!). With that in mind I'm going to briefly explain what this blog is going to be about.
For those of you that don't know, I recently got involved in starting up a company in Cape Town, with a very clever guy named Faheem (you can read his blog here too). Being a startup company, we went on the hunt for initial funding. Step in Google Umbono. Google Umbono is project by Google which aims to help tech startups in Cape Town in the very early stages of development. Being one of the lucky few companies to be chosen, we became part of the Umbono program. So thats going to be a little bit of what this blogs about. I'll share the inside news of whats going on at the Google Umbono offices, and let others interested in tech startups in Cape Town see what it's all about.
But to be fair, thats only the start of what this blog will be (I hope!). I plan to use this as a way of telling friends, acquaintances and total strangers (:-O) what our little startup company is up too! The types of things I'll rant on about will include what cool things I've discovered recently, what I'm currently working on and the challenges we're bound to be facing in starting up a business from scratch! Hopefully it will be informative, funny (in a geeky kinda way :-) ), and a little bit educational at times (at least if you are at all interested in the challenges a startup faces in the techno industry!).
Alright, so thats my first blog post. What did you guys think? Like it? Hate it? Bored to the point of hanging yourself? If you have any suggestions for improvement, comments or funny bits of grammar to point out (:-O) , feel free to leave a comment, or email me!
Finally, I leave you with the picture of our AMAZING Nespresso office coffee machine (if you don't know what that is, do yourself a favor and Google it!)
