It’s amazing to see where many of these tech companies started, and where they are now. IBM is a name that anyone hardly ever hears of, but for a while they dominated the PC industry for businesses that needed serious computing power. Apple put the personal computer on the map and made it a friendly device that anyone could own – but their bread and butter these days is most likely their smart phone. Even the smart phone had its roots with the first iPods that existed back when mp3 formats were just being introduced. What about Google? Google itself was never a company that produced hardware.
First and foremost, Google has been the premier search engine for people browsing the web. Since then, Google has become a hub for everything from apps to email services. Their next biggest battle that they will have to deal with is music, and how to dominate the world of digital music sales. So far, they have been good about keeping the play store in tip top shape, but real expansion means getting their services outside of just the United States where it is already very common. We can expect to see them expanding in all directions.
