Here we go with another apartment renovation! This is 17 Culpepper House in the Spice District, and this lot has the Gremlins lot trait (or challenge? not sure). I decided to do a “young artist just starting out and living on their own for the first time in an affordable apartment” theme.
It was a dark, dimly lit apartment before, and I wanted to take advantage of all the windows in the far corner. And so I thought to myself, “You know who needs a lot of natural light? An artist!”
*There is a shower in the bathroom too, I just didn’t take a picture of it.
I feel like this is an older apartment building, so I picked a wallpaper that looked plain and a little bit aged, but also neutral for the sake of having a lot of different tenants. There is a brick accent wall in the kitchen (because who doesn’t love a good accent wall). Also, I imagined that the artist who would live here would have a bunch of mismatched but cute decor and furniture pieces, stuff they brought with them from home or have collected/purchased over time. I have been trying to incorporate City Living Build/Buy mode items in my apartment renovations, so the brick and some of the furniture is from that pack.
I did not intend to have all this backstory for this build, but here we are haha.
I used The Art Room CC by @myshunosun. The easel, the cart, the canvases, the little paint tubes and bottles...these are the details that really make it feel like an artist’s studio space to me. I would have put the canvas rack too, but I didn’t have a good space for it. If you’re looking for artist-themed CC, I recommend this set!
Gotta have a vibey bedroom too right? This neon wall light is one of my favorite “vibey” lights in the game. I think it came with the Moschino stuff pack. I’m proud of that little gallery wall behind the bed.
So that’s 17 Culpepper House!
