Just rewatched Digging up the Marrow. It was one of the first films I saw when I started to get serious serious about watching horror about 5 years back. (that year I clocked in something just under 200 films - in case you were wondering ) Am glad to report that although my brain has definitely developed a protective callous, the parts that gave me a wibble then still registered now. Albeit not quite as much. Something which is embarrassing to say is that at that time I'd never seen/read Nightbreed/Cabal. So the parallels between went right over my head. It's crazy how much your view of the world can shift - all you have to do is tilt your head.
