The sharp scent of blood hit his nose. Then he noticed who his company was. ‘ You were with that DALISH child , Merril. ’

her cousin’s reputation preceded her, though, helene supposed, the same could be said for her. although, helene’s reputation was less.... notorious than her kin’s. and the taverns she spent her nights in were usually cleaner. helene didn’t know what she was expecting when it came to victoire hawke, all she had on her own cousin was rumor and conjecture and descriptions that her connections gave her. but she had expected that someone on the run from templars would have made an effort to draw less attention to themselves. the skull-capped staff and feather-lined cloak were definitely eye catching to say the least. the previously vacant seat adjacent to victoire was quickly occupied as subtly as helene could manage. ‘ victoire hawke? ‘ her name is poised as a question, though her confidence in her identity is steadfast. ‘ your reputation precedes you. ‘

" I don't call this destruction. " Amelan's lips puckered briefly as eyes scanned the numerous templars that mingled - uneasily - with the mages within Skyhold. Often did he find himself wandering about the battlements. So often did they find themselves want of company. But now, well, the Champion opted to tuck away above. Couldn't blame her, in all honesty. Their conversation had begun briefly enough; naturally turning toward the mage-templar conflict. And its 'destruction'. " From how everyone makes it sound, it was inevitable. " A chuckle occured then, followed by a rather smug lopsided smile. " Besides, humans seem to love killing one another. I say let them do what they are best at. "
He looked to the woman then, that smile remaining as he gave a tilt of his head. " Your person excluded, I am certain. "
“I’m hoping this expedition will change things for us,” he says -- if only because silence from his sister is... uncanny. If he worries, the notion is wrapped up and put away for good. “It’d be nice not to have to go to the rings in Darktown to fight for dinner money, for once.”
