“Gorgeous” MV: a concept

this was conceived as I was walking back to my dorm thinking about the RFI video and what would happen if taylor stuck to that theme of old self vs new self

so taylor 1 is in a club, dancing hard with her friends. she sees someone across the room--it’s her (henceforth taylor 2), talking to some guy. she immediately rushes out of the club.

cut to a dark old mansion. the song begins. taylor 2 is sitting in her room and taylor 1 is watching her. up until the line “ocean blue eyes”, taylor 1 is following taylor 2 throughout her daily life, taking notes in a tear-stained notebook. taylor 2 is unaware of her presence. and then they come face to face. taylor 2 starts running from taylor 1, whose pen has turned into a switchblade.

at the bridge they meet again in front of the mansion. there’s a brief moment of eye contact, and then taylor 1 stabs taylor 2. we don’t see much of the actual murder, but we see taylor 2 surrounded by blood, her skull cracked open.

taylor 1 spends the rest of the song pouring gasoline all over the mansion, and then lighting a match just outside. she throws in the notebook, pocketing the knife as she runs off into the night, just as police sirens are heard.
