#InternationalPrimateDay throwback to my favorite primate - Cenzoo, the Western Lowland Gorilla, moved from the Birmingham Zoo to South Carolina's Riverbanks Zoo. What a treat for both them and Cenzoo! As part of the AZA species survival plan, he went there to join other gorillas (a female from the North Carolina Zoo Asheboro and two females from Zoo Atlanta) to hopefully join and start a family. Cenzoo was born at Lincoln Park Zoo in 1996 but has also lived at the Denver Zoo and Busch Gardens. He was with his father Koundu at all the places until his fathers death a few years ago.
