A beautiful American robin sits perched atop a frozen branch, surrounded by glimmering icicles. The winter sun reflects off the icy surface of the branch, creating an almost magical atmosphere. The robin's bright red feathers stand out against the whiteness of the ice , and its beady black eyes take in the winter wonderland around it. It is a peaceful moment, and the robin seems content to simply sit and enjoy the view. The American robin (Turdus migratorius) is a migratory bird of the true thrush genus and Turdidae, the wider thrush family. It is named after the European robin because of its reddish-orange breast, though the two species are not closely related, with the European robin belonging to the Old World flycatcher family. The American robin is widely distributed throughout North America, wintering from southern Canada to central Mexico and along the Pacific Coast. The sexes are similar, but the female tends to be duller than the male, with a brown tint to the head, brown upperparts and less-bright underparts. However, some birds cannot be accurately sexed on the sole basis of plumage. The juvenile is paler in color than the adult male and has dark spots on its breast, and whitish wing coverts. First-year birds are not easily distinguishable from adults, but they tend to be duller, and a small percentage retain a few juvenile wing coverts or other feathers. #animalelite #mothernature #nature_seekers #naturelovers #splendid_animals #wildlife #wildlifeonearth #wildlifeperfection #wildlifephoto #wildlifeplanet #magriffisphotographer #michaelgriffis#ice #frozenlandscape #frozen https://www.instagram.com/p/CoroKBHOD3o/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
There is nothing better than watching an Eastern Cotton Tail rabbit visit. It is always so much fun to watch and photograph them, as they are such beautiful creatures. They move so gracefully and have such a presence that it is a joy to observe them. It is a wonderful experience to watch them in their natural habitat, and to be able to capture such a moment in time. The Eastern Cottontail is considered to be the most prolific of rabbits in Texas and the most common rabbit species in North America. #animalelite #mothernature #nature_seekers #naturelovers #splendid_animals #wildlife #wildlifeonearth #wildlifeperfection #wildlifephoto #wildlifeplanet #magriffisphotographer #michaelgriffis https://www.instagram.com/p/ColOyxeMJzA/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
