Despite what some may think, this is not a photograph of me before the wrinkles and pot belly set in.  I am much hairier and not as good looking as this chap.

This is a photograph of the title character from the 1926 Japanese silent film Gorira (Gorilla).

And this is not even really a gorilla.This is a Japanese scholar who uses black magic to turn himself into a man-ape.  He then goes on a murderous rampage against anyone he feels has wronged him.

Godzilla or Gojira by  obnubilant

Did you know that Gojira is a portmanteau of the Japanese words: gorira (gorilla, "gorilla") and kujira (whale, "whale"), owing to the fact that in one planning stage, Godzilla was described as " a cross between a gorilla and a whale", due to its size, power and aquatic origin.
