Muppet Fact #146
When the Muppets were invited to perform in Japan by Nippon Television to do a show with pop star Goro Noguchi, Jim Henson's producer Diana Birkenfield wanted the trip delayed since she thought the script wasn't funny enough because it was mostly slapstick.
Despite this, Henson went ahead with the trip because he was so excited to go to Japan. When the skits were performed, the producers at Nippon Television were falling over in their chairs laughing. Henson snapped a picture of the moment to prove to Birkenfield that comedy is subjective.
