The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug
...I've gotta say I'm disappointed.
There so much story to show, so much beauty to portray, but all we got was a story trampled underneath a buttload of orcs that were not supposed to even be there.
Fine, chuck a Legolas here and a Tauriel there, the more the merrier. Oh a budding romance, alright, it has potential, and it's almost interesting, I like it. The Necromancer was scary and Smaug was nicely majestic. (Although I really could not reconize anything of Cumberbatch in the creature, and briefly wondered if they just humoured him in letting him play motion capture.) Bilbo had some really great scenes, much love to Martin Freeman.
But I'm not happy with how much orc bullshit I had to tolerate, and how many battle scenes I had to sit through, the entire movie seemed like a blur of overly dramatic pointless fighting mush.
And in the mountain, towards the end: suddenly we're in Indiana Jones? Oh, oh, I know, this is Terminator 2, the liquid metal dwarf! Please.
Seriously. I am expecting better things of part three, I really am. It could not have been the intention of the film makers to make anyone in the audience go "The first movie was amazing but this... what happened?"
.
P.S. A friend just told me: "You mean you're expecting less battle scenes and fighting in a part three where armies take on a massive dragon?"
Good point. *weep* I'll always remember the first movie as one of the best Tolkien films ever made.
they say you shouldn't drink milk when you have fever well fuck the police! because I forgot about that and already got me some milk
Fever-ish. :[
It has been raining since this morning and 'am already feelin' cold. Mom told me that I had a slight fever, so I ended up having this "water therapy" that made me bloated as ever. I slept for about 2 hrs. and just woke up a while ago, my sleeping routine is just so eff'd up. Hope I'll have a good sleep later so that I can play my event tomorrow. :|
