I thought I was done with Game of Thrones posts for a while but apparently I’m watching from the beginning now (I clearly am a masochist) and have nobody to talk to about it that gives a fuck SO HERE’S MORE
Why do I love a show that makes me so mad and sad
Okay so it’s pretty obvious as of season six that Jon is actually not Ned’skid, SO OF ALLLLLLLL THE PEOPLE IN THE WORLD THAT NED COULD TELL, WHY WOULD HE NOT TELL CATELYN? SHE HAAATES JON WITH A BURNING PASSION. SHE’S TREATED HIM LIKE SHIT HIS ENTIRE LIFE BECAUSE SHE THINKS HE IS A MARK OF NED’S BETRAYAL. WHY WOULD HE NOT JUST TELL HER AND MAKE THAT STOP AND GO AWAY.
It’s even worse because I fucking hate Catelyn almost solely because she’s so awful to Jon, and if this one thing had changed I feel like she wouldn’t be soo hateable. WHY NOT DO THE ONE THING. I feel like it’s because G.R.R.M. didn’t even know that Jon wasn’t Ned’s when he was writing the beginning of the books and shit and wanted to have ~drama~
Also watching the Lannisters and Starks all together (well, minus Tywin) at the beginning of the show is making me think about the SHOWDOWNS that we probably have in store for us in the two seasons to come. Namely, after the convo Jon and Jaime have where Jaime shits on the Night’s Watch not-so-subtlety, JON AND JAIME SHOWIN’ DOWN AS QUEENSGUARD AND KING OF THE NORTH. I’ve never thought about them clashing. I don’t know if it will happen now that Jaime’s not as good of a swordsman anymore. But I hope it does and Jaime gets his butt kicked.
ANOTHER THING THAT BOTHERS ME: FUCK KHAL DROGO IN THE SHOW. HE IS SO MUCH SWEETER IN THE BOOKS, DURING THEIR FIRST TIMES TOGETHER. It’s creepy AF in the books because she’s like 14 but he also makes an effort for it not to just be him “taking what is his.” It’s gross. HBO, why must you suck so much.
