I just realized they've done to Dany what they did to Wang So... Everyone hurts and betrays them and when they finally snap, the writers expect us to think "yes, hm, this is definitely their fault" and I'm astonished by the idiocy.

But yes, you're absolutely right and I'm going to be forever bitter about it. At least in So's case, his acts towards the end of the drama - while ruthless - can be justified in his role as king.For Dany, her actions are justifiable in some way or another (and no worse than other major players in the series) even if controversial, until the writers decided she would go after innocents in the latest episode. That was fucked up and absolutely not the character we have been following for 8 seasons. It's a betrayal of the very core of who she is. And the writers have no good explanation for it either, they just make up bullshit excuses.If she was destined for madness, there were so many other ways they could've gone about it. Instead, we get this gaslighting. And now she's going to die a villain.Her character deserved better. I'm not even saying she had to stay a good guy, but for god's sake, give me something well-written.

EDIT: Coming back to this ask months later because looking back, it seems like I'd be okay with Dany ending up evil. I absolutely 100% HATE IT. I hate how it went down in the show, and I would hate it if this really is the route GRRM will go in the books. But if it had been written better, at least my intelligence wouldn't have been insulted. Anyways, Daenerys Targaryen is a hero✌🏻
