The smell of him made her wrinkle her nose. “Take the quarrel out of him,” she commanded. “This is the King’s Hand!” And my father. My lord father. Should I scream and tear my hair? They said Catelyn Stark had clawed her own face to bloody ribbons when the Freys slew her precious Robb. Would you like that, Father? she wanted to ask him. Or would you want me to be strong? Did you weep for your own father?
A Feast for Crows, George R.R Martin.
You said in a previous post that jaime might or might not be the valonqar, and that in your opinion Tyrion isn't the valonqar. Who are your other possible candidates for the valonqar, I'm curious? Do you think cersei's death will come at the hands of her family or an outsider?
Also on a related note do you see briene having a role in maggy's prophecy?
tbh I don’t really theorise much about the valonqar prophecy bc even if you guess right the WHO, the why and how and when remains unknown so I just kind of shrug at it atp. most of the time I think it’ll be Jaime, now and then consider outliers like Osney or whatever but it doesn’t really take me anywhere interesting.
I don’t see Brienne as the YMBQ if that’s what you mean! this might sound boring but lately I’ve been wondering if it isn’t just Margaery…. like apart from the valonqar, the other aspects of the prophecy are either already accounted for or plain in their meaning, so I end up wondering if the YMBQ aspect isn’t the same and we’re just supposed to be focusing on the valonqar. like Jaime isn’t EVERYTHING Cersei holds dear (or even half of it) so I don’t think Brienne ever could take ‘everything she holds dear’, plus the wordplay of ‘maybe it’s not a queen after all’ is too spurious.
the only other candidates I think could ACTUALLY supplant Cersei are Arianne and Dany. Arianne is beautiful but her being the YMBQ for five minutes feels thematically meaningless. Dany meanwhile is actively set up as Cersei’s foil and is the surprise third option Cersei never considered…. but I’ve long assumed the battle over the iron throne will be between Aegon and Dany, not Cersei and Dany, and that Dany will never sit it anyway (hence Bran emerging as king). all round I don’t really know what to do w the YMBQ bit. Cersei stands to lose everything anyway, whether a YMBQ is involved or not, so I kind of don’t know what we’re waiting for

Cersei is so incredibly funny, mostly bc from outside she seemed so cool, so intelligent. Then we read her POV and we realise, no, she's just lucky af lmfaoooo
Yes queen, Tyrion IS in your walls and the maid keep shrinking your clothes and you are your father but with tits. You are absolutely correct
Cersei is my favorite delulu queen. 😌
What do you think Tyrion and Jaime will do after they meet again (if they will)?
What about Jaime and Cersei?
Tyrion and Cersei?
weirdly I have just been discussing w oomf and like. I think we both agree that Tyrion will probably be directly responsible for Jaime’s death and that will be their next interaction lol. there’s a wild amount of foreshadowing for this that I’m kind of surprised at myself I’ve managed to ignore …. and yeah while I have no idea what that death might look like (could literally be anything from Tyrion having him executed to Tyrion killing Jaime from atop a dragon to god knows what I really have no idea but put it this way I don’t think it’ll be an accident. maybe a Maekar v Baelor situation tho where like he didn’t MEAN to but also. he kind of did) but this feels in keeping w GRRM’s Richard III parallels w Tyrion and I don’t think has to disrupt the overall character trajectory I understand Jaime to have.
Jaime and Cersei - idk. either he is the valonqar or he isn’t, and if he is I assume it’ll have to do w wildfire + maybe the fate of their children.
Tyrion and Cersei I 50/50 think may never speak again. there’s not really anything left to say between them and regardless of who IS the valonqar, I’m near certain it’s not Tyrion
