I finished the Goth Aran ™.
A week at home waiting for my workplace to set up video conferencing gave me plenty of time to finally get this done. And yes, I recognise the rather grim irony of finishing this particular project at this particular time in history.

What’s this? Actual knitting? I’m as surprised as you are!
I finally had a chance to do some more work on the Goth Aran ™, so here’s the first completed sleeve. The true indignity of sleeves is that, fresh from your triumph at conquering the pattern, you have to do it all again.
Two sleeves done. Heck yeah.
Soon, the circle will be complete (literally, as the yoke of the Goth Aran ™ is knitted in the round).

At this point, you can probably see why I’ve been calling this The Goth Aran ™ (colour not withstanding).
This is as far as I can go with the body for now- I need to make the sleeves, then join everything together.
Halfway up the body of the Goth Aran™, and the pattern is slowly taking shape. I’ve gone almost completely off-pattern on the back, but things seem to be working out so far.
This pile of chunky grey is ready to be converted into what I’m calling ‘The Goth Aran’. (I never quite got over my goth phase in the late 90s).

The pattern I’m using is super fun, but not error-free. I know enough about Aran knitting that I’ve been able to muddle through but, in true form, this project is bringing out the angst.
