So far in 2018, We, the good people at Soak Records, have been able to bring to you, our adoring and discerning public, four releases exclusively via bandcamp.
First up, on February 15th, we released “Scenes” from label boss Rich I.V. 10 tracks spanning genres such as drumstep, classically infused drum and bass, breakbeat and a few curveballs like “Transference” which lead with a 7/4 beat and “Black Balloon’ which managed to contain three time signatures in its 5 minute running time.

The second release on our fledgling label was released on March 16th and came from Japanese upstart Akito Yamanaka. A three track EP intriguingly titled “Tomorrow Does Not Belong To You” gave us a different take on the 87bpm end of drum and bass.
Taking the Japanese title for “The Matrix” as inspiration and shortening it to “Young People Wearing Sunglasses Transcending Dimensions”, a jarring and yet uplifting track was created. “Tokyo Goth” and “Sidestepper” completed the trio, with the latter track sounding like Nine Inch Nails with extra distortion.

The third illustrious release came to bandcamp on 15th April.
Shank Colony gave us the three track EP “Palooka” which covered Drum & Bass on “Get With The Programme”, downtempo, atmospheric, instrumental hip hop on “Nixed” (which samples a very well known Hollywood film) and Electro on “None Other”.

Our most recent release came out two days ago.
Goth Robinson brought us a digital double A side on a different tip from our other releases.
“Nothingness” brings main room House music to the label for the first time. The flipside is “Ageha“, Goth’s tribute to the legendary Tokyo night club of the same name.
