Oh man, for how long have I been working on this, two, three months already? The editing part was the hardest for me, surprisingly, because I didn't want to ...

To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand Frankenstein. The underlying themes are extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of 19th century Natural Philosophy most of the content will go over a typical reader’s head. There's also Victor’s overreaching hubris, which is deftly woven into his characterisation- his personal philosophy draws heavily from Romantic poet Percy Shelley’s work, for instance. The fans understand this stuff; they have the intellectual capacity to truly appreciate the depths of these references, to realise that they're not just pretentious Romantic prose- they say something deep about LIFE. As a consequence people who dislike Frankenstein truly ARE idiots- of course they wouldn't appreciate, for instance, the tragedy of the creature’s existential catchphrase "Evil thenceforth became my good," which itself is a cryptic reference to John Milton’s epic Paradise Lost. I'm smirking right now just imagining one of those addlepated simpletons scratching their heads in confusion as Mary Shelley’s genius wit unfolds itself on their forced reading for English class. What fools.. how I pity them. 😂
Today I happened to see that the local video store in my town was closing and selling all of their movies. Remembering how I had rented Foxes movie Victor Frankenstein at one point, I rushed in to buy the film at that sweet, sweet discounted price. Frantically, I scanned the shelves in search of the movie, desperately praying I was not too late. Alas, a few rows in front of me was a woman with a stack of movies a good 2 feet high beside her. To my growing despair, I realized she was cleaning out the horror section. Was I too late? NO! For literally RIGHT THERE in front of her face was my movie-- thus far unnoticed and unloved. I had to act fast. Swiftly, I dodged a passing employee and skidded over to the infamous shelf. Seeing both Blu-ray and regular DVD available left me momentarily stunned with the monumental task of decision making. Then I remembered I had no Blu-ray player and swiped up the last DVD before it could be seized by my unknowing rival. Triumphant, I left for the checkout. Oh, and I bought the SpongeBob Movie too.
Just when I think I’ve seen everything Frankenstein adaptations have to offer...
