On Oct. 2, the New Site team interviewed Jessy Hsieh (Associate Director of Graduate Education) and Jerllin Cheng at Stern. Jessy's first and foremost concern on Stern was alumni engagement. Jerllin gave us some interesting ideas, such as how to maintain great student tradition but also innovate it, how to engage students for the innovation of business school curriculum, and the openness/transparency of school administration. She also mentioned the importance of careful wording of questions, which will guide our project. For example, "how can we engage alumni?" "what can we ask from our alumni?" "How can we increase alumni donation?" Since alumni engagement seems like one of the major challenges of our interviewees, we plan to contact the Director of Alumni Relation at Stern for an interview. We also identified SEA (Social Enterprise Association, a student group at Stern) as one of the stakeholders because they invite many alumni for their meetings and events.
