Hello! I was wondering if you could answer a cosplay question for me. I'm making a large canine skull and recently purchased a roll of worbla plastic for it. My question is, do you know what kind of clay works best to make a mold to use worbla over?
Well it’s probably gonna depend on your level of sculpting talent. Personally, I couldn’t sculpt myself out of a paper bag, so I tend to use Celluclay or Model Magic. But if you know what you’re doing, you can probably use the more advanced stuff. The size of the object is a huge factor; since it’s large, you’ll want to get something you can buy in large quantities without killing your budget. You’ll also want to consider if it needs to air-dry or if you have a kiln or oven to bake it if it’s bake-dry clay. There are also clays that don’t dry out at all, which probably wouldn’t be the best option since you’ll need a solid foundation to mold off of.
I’d probably go with this stuff, but I am really no expert.
