Amazing sesame pudding was served on Ibusuki’s special express—Ibusuki No Tamarebako. • • • • The name of this train comes from the Japanese fairy tale of Urashima Taro. Urashima was a fisherman who was rewarded a trip into the sea for what he thought to be only a few days by a sea-turtle he rescued. At the end of the trip, Urashima was given a jeweled box (Tamarebako), and was warned to not open the box after he went back to the surface. When he returned, he found that 100 years has already passed and all the people he knew were dead. When he opened the Tamarebako, he instantly aged into an old man with hair with the color of the snow. • • • The train is decorated from the outside to resemble this fairy tale with the side facing the sea painted white and the side facing the mountain painted black. The internal arrangement of the train is also unique. Seats are not arranged row after row as in a normal train. In contrast, the side facing the sea is a long counter with all the seats facing the window, and the other side are booths with bookshelves and tables and even baby beds. This is most likely to be the consideration for all passengers to be able to enjoy the sea view. • • • That sesame pudding was the best pudding I’ve ever had, no joke :P • • • • #japan #asia #foodporn #foodphotography #train #lightnshadow #gameoflight #ontheway #fairytale #folk #culture #history #storytime #gowithshan #go #justgoshoot #seetheworld #see #seekthesimplicity #discover #discovery #surprise #instagood (at Ibusuki, Kagoshima)
